Wedding at Willowood Ranch in Bells TX

A few weekends ago, I photographed Kristen and Isaac Neely’s wedding in Bells, Texas at a beautiful little chapel called Willowood. Bells is north of Dallas, so I left Austin on a Friday afternoon to drive the 4 1/2 hours to the location. I had never been to the chapel, so I sat in on their rehearsal to get a feel for the space and the lighting. After the rehearsal, Kristen and Isaac invited me to tag along to their rehearsal dinner. It was great getting to know a few of their friends and family prior to the wedding.

I did an engagement session with Kristen and Isaac a few months ago, and it was one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. Isaac is not a fan of overly posed photos, so we tried a few different approaches. See below:

They were both a lot of fun to be around, so I was really looking forward to their wedding. I rented a fisheye lens to do a little experimentation. I never in a million years thought I would like a fisheye, but in specific circumstances the effect is fantastic. There were quite a few moments during the wedding and reception where the fisheye photos turned out to be some of my favorite photos of the whole weekend. I also had the help of Amie Wyman, who served as my second photographer for the wedding. She is based out of Fort Worth. You should totally hire her for something. 🙂

Here are a few photos from the wedding and reception:
